I cleaned the Shuttle
out at 8.00 am. Charlie is a pack rat! Already his articles were spread all over the
interior: hair dryer, suntan lotion, fishing tackle, CDs, books, cassettes - if I
didn’t consolidate his stuff every day we would be sitting in a pile of junk. I
filled up the cooler with ice and cleaned the food container. Took a shower - feel good!
Set off for El Paso through more dust storms, but the lights from the shacks across the
border in Mexico were still visible. The show was in a small club down town. Local band
Schisum opened. Our set went ok, a few mistakes, but the promoter said it was the best punk show he’d ever seen! The crowd went wild. Drove overnight towards Dallas. I drove until 3.00 am then Dave took over. |
