Woke up at 8.00 am and re-packed the shuttle cargo hold to fit a few items which didn’t seem to fit last night. Got my juicer out and made a big batch of carrot juice. The promoter showed us were a fruit rat was hollowing out Oranges and Grapefruit on his trees using the overhead cables as a transport system. We got on the road at 10 am Dave and I took turns driving, as neither Charlie or Alvin drive. We arrived at the Showcase Theatre in San Diego at 4.00pm but no one was around so we set off downtown to get guitar supplies to fix a few things which went bad last night.

It turned out there was no less than 6 bands playing tonight including, “Me First”, who were a very funny all female band from San Francisco. The “Fuck Boys”, who showed up late and played a short set. and “Youth Brigade” who were added above Anti-Flag. Anti-Flag also played a short set which was a shame as they had driven all the way down from San Francisco. They played well, but their new bass player, Jamie Cock, broke a string on the first number.

Our set was chaos as usual, but fortunately the sound system was decent. Dave broke the bass drum peddle halfway through the set. We went down really well although the turn out was very disappointing, maybe 350 people or so. The set ended with my belt snapping and I finished the set with my pants around my ankles - I’m officially too fat. My ex-girl friend (and Ten Bright Spikes violin player), Lovely Previn showed up and we went back to her cottage around 2.00am and managed to squeeze the huge shuttle into a tiny recess in the alley way at the back of the cottage.
